Senior Venture Partner at JumpStart Inc.
Jon joined Jumpstart as a Venture Partner in July 2016 to advise companies Jumpstart has invested in, in order to foster their growth. He now is the Senior Venture Partner overseeing the management of Jumpstart’s portfolio companies. Prior to Jumpstart Jon was an information technology and software Entrepreneur-In-Residence for the Jumpstart Entrepreneurial Network. Jon assists entrepreneurs to build their businesses by identifying priorities, raising capital and executing to milestones. Jon joined Jumpstart with 30 plus years of experience in entrepreneurship, technology, and business. Most recently Jon was the CFO/COO and the primary investor in Knotice, which was sold to IgnitionOne in March of 2014. Knotice was a digital marketing software and services firm in the data management arena which grew significantly over a ten year period. Prior to Knotice, Jon was an investment banker, private equity investor, and management consultant.
Jon attended the University of Colorado where he earned his BS degree in Mechanical/Industrial engineering and BA in History. After three years of working at TRW’s Military Microelectronics Division, he attended Carnegie Mellon’s Tepper School of Business where he earned his MBA with a focus in operations, finance, and entrepreneurship.
Jon has worked in Asia, Europe, North Africa, and South America. He is also a member of the North Coast Angel Fund and is on the board of several early-stage companies. Jon is currently serving as the President of the Board at the Cleveland Museum of Natural History.
